O.K. I will say very little about the plots or endings of films when I post here.
The context of watching this film. My lovely bride and valentine and me woke up around 3 a.m. After I cooked some chili, she checked her e-mail, and I obsessed over eMusic for a bit, we decided to watch this film: our first film that we got with our Netflix X-mas gift certificate from my Aunt-in-law Brenda.
Anywho, two Dr. K cans into the early morning, we started the movie at about 4 a.m. I must say that this movie had me laughing from the moment that I saw Will Ferrel in that sweet “The Judds” jersey. What a riot! I laughed very loudly during much of this film. Sometimes Will Farrell movies can fall a little flat with me, but this one really kept my abdominal muscles working hard.
Sidebar of context: my lovely bride and valentine and KrokusJortParty just arrived, some in-laws are on the way.
Plot: transparent, but still watchable. I enjoyed some of the side-plots (like with John C. Riely’s character and his step-sister-in-law). There are some classic one-liners in this film (“from my chest pubes to my ball fro,” “what’s he sayin’, pow?,” “Pamm: double m. That’s what’s getting me confused,” “he’s locking it in the bedroom wall safe,” etc.).
Acting: flawless in a slapstick sense. I pretty much enjoyed all characters.
Fashion: impeccable. I really love 80’s fashion.
Masks: add much to the film.
Signature on Samurai Sword: phenomenal.
Christmas sex scene: smoking hot.
This is a great film that allowed me to mostly turn off my brain and just enjoy the laughs.
Anyway, when there are posts from this film on Tumblr, they’ll probably make me laugh and I’ll probably re-blog them.
