Burn After Reading
I was going to review this film, but after careful and deliberate consideration, came to the realization that half of the time I don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about. Srsly. And I’m really groggy from too much sleep and therefore not feeling very certain about reviewing anything. For instance, I still haven’t taken down my Christmas tree. Would you trust your movie viewing considerations to someone who is too lazy or distracted to take down his Christmas tree? I know I wouldn’t.
Because someone who has not yet taken down one’s Christmas tree by January whatever-the-fuck-day-this-is clearly has some issues.
Anyhow, I can recommend this film if you want to say things like, “Oh look, that Brad Pitt sure can play a goofy character.”  Or, “Brad Pitt looks real pale. He must not be getting enough sun and sleep with all those kids he and Angie have.” Or “Brad Pitt looks like an old lady.”  Or “George Clooney would be a national treasure if he didn’t hate this country so much.”  Or “Are people really this dumb?”
I was entertained over the course of this movie by watching the actors expertly play their quirky roles as they sort of nodded and winked to the audience (a la “Ocean’s 11” and the sequels). I doubt that was the intention of the filmakers, but apparently it is what they settled upon. Because it is the Coen Brothers, it is worth a watch. But the whole thing was kind of pointless. Watch it and see if you agree.
I dunno. I’m just a guy who still hasn’t taken down his Christmas tree.
